Bought these legacy hardware recently

#1 Post by Bondi » Mon Jul 15, 2019 10:06 am

I've recently picked up two cd-roms for old thinkpads on ebay. Both were new/sealed and very cheap.
The first one is Sigma Data 24x drive for 755/760 series. Apart from beeing fast, this drive
is remarkable for it's standard internal connector. As I understood it's basically an adapter that can take any
standard IDE notebook cd drive. I'll doublecheck it when it arrives.

The other one is SCSI 2x drive intallation kit for 3545-001 Docking station. The drive itself is
Toshiba TOSHIBA XM-4101B, and is not a big rarity, but it's listed on ebay for much higher price. The most precious
thing here is the proprietary SCSI cable that comes with it, and which is almost impossible to find.
It can be also used to connect a SCSI HDD to the dock. BTW this kit is still available on ebay.
