#1 Post by jasomdotnet » Tue Aug 27, 2019 9:57 am

Hi there,
I have IBM ThinkPad 770 9548310 in front of me. This is Wikipedia page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_ThinkPad_770
I don't know how to boot laptop up. There is this strange animation. What I should click or which button to push?

Note: I'm new here, so I hope this is proper subforum to ask.

Welcome to the forum! You did get the subforum correct.

I don't know exactly about this animation. It looks like it wants you turn on the machine. Look on the left of the machine there should be a slider with a white line on it. That will turn on the machine.
Thinkpad4by3's Law of the Universe.

The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.

If the OP is seeing this message than the computer is all ready on. I have seen this message before but I don't remember why. I would assume pressing the left/right keys would chose on or off and pressing the "Enter" key or the space bar would activate the choice. Best to see what happens either way.. See below

Back in the old days a computer could not reboot on it's own, you had to do it yourself when necessary.
