Almost all of the i-series ThinkPads were manufactured by Acer for IBM.

Yes, it should do very nicely. I'm an I-Series person so of course, I'm biased.

The I-Series was meant to be a lower cost Thinkpad, geared more towards college students with multimedia uses, instead of the normal Thinkpad business niche. They were generally made by Acer, so often share a number of parts or features especially under the hood. Some have derided them as cheap or not worthy of the Thinkpad name. I disagree. My first laptop was an I-Series 2611-1450, and I still miss it, a nearly perfect blend (at the time) of productivity and entertainment. I have heard where the screen does tend to be the thing that fails, and it was true in my machine's case.

At any rate, have fun with it!
