ThinkPad 600E LCD feels very fragile

I have a ThinkPad 600E (366MHz Pentium 2, 288 MB of RAM, 32 GB HDD) that is in nearly pristine shape, and feels very solidly built, except for one part. The screen.

I noticed that if I put even the tiniest amount of pressure on the lid, there was a rippling effect on the upper right area of the screen.

It's so sensitive that even adjusting the screen's position makes the rippling show up. This is pretty concerning as I really don't want to have to replace the screen if it breaks from this.

How should I go about trying to remedy this problem?

It is just the type of screen that was used back then. It is a TFT screen, which is liquid filled.

As long as you aren't consistently pressing on it, you will be fine.

It's like the lid is pressing constantly on the back of the screen, which is what concerns me.

Does it look like the lid is warped or bowed?
