Hi there,
I have just owned this IBM 770Z.
Here is the problem with its LCD

What would you think about this problem?

Pictures speak a thousand words! To me that almost looks like moisture in the air is frosting onto the display. Was the system cold when you experienced this? Does it do it if it's warmed up? Is this "frosty" appearance apparent with the system off?

This frosty look appears if 770Z is turned on. My room is about 20 Celcius (or about 70 Fahrenheit).
As far as I know, it has never been in a freezing area (or a refrigerator).

That's an LCD starting to die. Does it smell like vinegar?

there is absolutely no smell.
I made a research about lcd replacement and I could find 1280x1024 13.7 panel and xga panel for 390e. Are those compatible with 770Z with 14.1 xga version?
