Where to find 755CD's and the like

#1 Post by thealphaoverseer » Sat Jul 11, 2020 10:44 pm

Hi everyone,
I just watched an intriguing demonstration of a brick in operation. I thought it would be fun to own one, maybe as an oversized toy. I thought they would be cheap, like an early T series, but apparently, they're not. I couldn't even find one on Ebay! Are they now museum pieces, or do people still have them?

Good luck.

I was looking for a 765 or 770 and there are VERY few if any around for sale, and those that were are at inflated prices. I ended up getting a couple 600s, which turns out were more of the predecessor to the T series than the 700 series were.

Not to mention that 600 are completely different systems than 755CD :)

They are far away from cheap.
Too many thinkpads not enough time!

755CDs pop up once in a while on ebay. Prices vary, and sometimes they are sold for reasonable price (wich I think is a two digit number).
You can also check this seller from my thread https://www.forum.thinkpads.com/viewtop ... 95#p839665
But I suspect that the storage conditions are not very good there. I ordered a LCD assembly there once and it turned out to be degraded due to high humidity, I guess.
