Hi Everyone
I've had to break up a bunch of 755CX hardware (took days) and in the course of it tried to crack the BIOS Power On Password on one of them. Total fail. Anyway, I've removed the BIOS chips and would like to have a go at reading/writing them.
The chips are all marked C46A1 and are 8 pins.
I believe I've located the software to use here: https://www.allservice.ro/store/utils/ but wondering if anyone had advice for the best 'modern' hardware to read/write these chips? I know NOTHING about reading/writing to EEPROMs...
USB or serial is cool. USB would probably by easier but happy to go to Serial. Found the wiring diagram here. https://www.normsweb.com/tektips/thinkpad.shtml
I wondered if something like this would do it?:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SPI-ROM-SAM- ... 3221026811
Alternatively, if anyone needs some 755CX spares to swap for a compatible EEPROM videos, I have everything except motherboards....
Thanks!
