With the help of System Commander, I've set up a multi-boot system on my new TP770Z, with DOS, Win311, Win95, Win98, NT4, Win2000, and XP all installed. The only problem is with Windows 95, which runs, but with hardware conflicts that make it impossible to access the internal CD-ROM or to use the PC Card slots. I've installed every relevant driver I can find on this site.
The IDE controllers and PC Card entries in Device Manager both show IRQ and memory-range conflicts. I got the idea that maybe I could use the settings from Windows 98 on the same system, but that seems to be impossible, as some of the memory ranges used by these items in Win98 are reserved by "System Reserved" in Win95. I can certainly live with this situation, because all I'll be doing with the Win95 setup is checking out how some old software behaves, but of course it would be nice to fix it.
Does any IRQ/memory-range expert here have any thoughts on whether this is worth trying to fix?

Re: TP 770X/Z - Windows 95 device conflicts?
There are a variety of Win95 versions as listed below.
0196 Part no. 000-37080 US OSR1 (sometimes OSR2, Gateway)
0796 Part no. 000-45234 US OSR2
0796 Part no. 000-45236 US OSR2 (+ Plus! pack)
0197 Part no. 000-59944 US OSR2.1 (+ USB patch)
1297 Part no. X03-52599 US OSR2.5 (+ USB patch + IE4.01)
1297 Part no. X03-56265 US OSR2.5 (+ USB patch + IE4.01 + Plus! pack)
There is also an archived Win95 support page at https://web.archive.org/web/20030801182 ... 95upd.html that discusses updates. It's probably best to start with OSR2.5 and then see what updates may apply to help with your issues. IRQ problems can be difficult and I have had to turn off non-essential devices in the past to get essential devices to work.

This is extremely useful information. Thank you. I realized I had OSR2.1 installed, and have now upgraded to 2.5, which seems to have helped reduce the conflicts. I'll download some updates, and will continue working on it. Thank you again - and especially for that link to updates on archive.org.

Re: TP 770X/Z - Windows 95 device conflicts?
@BillP - Again, that was a VERY useful post. I upgraded to Win95C, as I reported in the previous message. At first I got various error messages, which I resolved by uninstalling the USB supplement (will install again later), and by restoring the "previous Internet Explorer version" (that turned out to be 3.0) and then reinstalling IE 5.
The PCI bus issue seems to be completely resolved (though Win95 has a bad habit of losing some settings after a restart, so I'll wait and see). There's still one problem listed in the PC Card section of Device Manager, but the card slot seems to be working anyway. Thank you again!
