Dump IBM 701C BIOS

#1 Post by Ghostdog » Mon May 03, 2021 8:34 am

Hello,
Does anyone have an experince of backuping the IBM 701C (or similar) bios. I've got a board with modded bios and I want to try flash it on another one.

I didn't know they had modded BIOSes for the 701. Modded in what way?

I'm not sure about reading the current BIOS, but I do know that BIOS updates for Thinkpads of this era were distributed on bootable floppies (later CDs), so provided you can find an updater that works, flashing a BIOS should be fairly trivial. I don't have a 701C BIOS disk myself, but I do have a PC110 disk as well as a few others (770 series mostly).

Many more as well!
