TP760 power supply issue

#1 Post by railes » Thu Jul 08, 2021 1:48 pm

Hello to everyone! Faced a problem - I don't have any power supplies for IBM ThinkPad 760XL, it has kinda proprietary connector with 4 pins. How can I find a power supply for it or create by myself?

I'm sure I'd seen a page on connectors somewhere.. Ah here it is! https://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Power_Connector Heh they even link back to this very forum :)

Generally speaking it seems like TP760 may be using 20V just like the more modern Thinkpads. I would think that if you manage to connect a PSU with round or square plug correctly that should work.. I'm not sure how many watts TP760 needs.. But you need a PSU that provides no less than that. Just the connector looks like an issue.

After reading the thread I ended up being confused if those adapters mentioned at the top of the thread - from a Czech company - are correctly wired.
