battery and wireless for iSeries 1200 116

#1 Post by akivaf » Wed Jul 20, 2005 12:44 pm

Hi there, everyone,

I want to add a few things to my iSeries 1200.

1. I'd like to add a wireless card. Any recommendations for the brand? How do I know what card is compatible? I can't find the info on the IBM site.

2. If the computer becomes unplugged from the wall, it turns off immediately. So I basically can't use it away from my desk. I assume this means that the battery is dead. Can I simply order a new battery for the model, or could the problem be more complicated?

thanks very much.

we have exactly the same laptop, got mine very cheap becoz the casing on the hinge broke, the owner never fixed it, i just put metal paste on it and its onk.

1. any wifi card will do, buy a IEEE 802.11G card since its 54mbps 5 times faster thank 802.11B/802.11

2. Your battery is dead, buy a new one for 45$ @ ebay
