Need help with Thinkpad 600 problem: "NTLDR is missing&

#1 Post by dralanlipman » Fri Jul 29, 2005 4:34 pm

Hello,

I own a Thinkpad 600 that was running Win 98 Se.

I tried to replace it with Windows 2000 Pro.

I installed 2000 Pro.

Now, unfortuantely, I am only getting a message which says "NTLDR is missing. Press any key to restart"

I have tried to reinstall Win 2000, and have completed the installation, but get this same result.

I know that the Win 2000 disk is not corrupt, as I have installed it on other machines successfully.

I do not have Win 98se disks or an IBM recovery disk.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks!

It could be a dirty drive.....but I know last week the same thing happened to me,and getting another install cd worked fine...so it may be the cd....as mine i've used numerous times flawlessly, but gave up on that time....especially if its a CD-R
