Motherboard Thinkpad 755CD

Hello,
I just got my hands on an old 755CD. Apparently, it is protected by a BIOS password.

In the meantime, I’ve read just about everywhere that the easiest way to bypass it is to get a different motherboard.. (Working with an EEPROM is unfamiliar to me..)
Does anyone happen to know which ThinkPads have the same motherboard as this one?

I shouldn't look on Marktplaats: I live in Europe and the shipping and customs costs are huge...

Thanks!

The password is easy to deal with, with the right tools. I think if that's beyond you, you'd be better off just getting a complete one without a password.

Note there are two 755CD machines - a 486 version and a Pentium version and things like the RAM would not be interchangable, so even if you found a motherboard, it might not be the right one.

I probably have a complete 755CD somewhere, but it'll have been restored as in recapped and serviced and stuff.

Is there some way to find out which 755cd I'm talking about?
The 486 or the Pentium?
Or do I need to get it booted up first?

Hi Im a newbie here but I just want to say it is well worth googling how to bypass a password on a older style thinkpad You just have to find the eprom In my case I have only done it once on a thinkpad r30 but I was lucky it had dip switches which made it very easy A 755cd is a worthy vintage thinkpad to have in a collection Im envious lol
