Any Ideas on How to Boot with Keyboard Assy Removed

It's a Thinkpad 600 running Windows 2000 Prof.

I want to be able to boot the machine with the keyboard assy removed. Someone (on another forum I think) said that if you disable the Trackpoint mouse using the Thinkpad configuration program, then the machine would boot without a keyboard.

I've disabled the Trackpoint, but still get a 301 keyboard error when trying to boot.

Any ideas or suggestions?

External Keyboard Attached?

Do you have an external keyboard attached? Will it boot with an external keyboard attached? :?:

Thanks - Yes, I can boot it with an external KB --- I'm building a digital picture frame using the 600 and want to eliminate the keyboard alltogether.

I'm just not technical enough to figure out how to do it

Thanks for your response.

Thanks, --- it seems like more of a problem than I anticipated.

One of the posts mentioned a "keyboard/mouse dongle" which according to the post, mimics the keyboard. Does anyone know if something like that exists. If so, I could tuck that away in the digital frame.

Thanks again for the responses.
