Thinkpad 770Z Display won't light

#1 Post by tomstarich » Sat Aug 27, 2005 8:13 am

Dear Thinkpad Experts,

My Thinkpad 770Z display is dark. I could see faint shadows of the program windows and but full illumination does not occur.

I tested the thinkpad on an external display and it works when connected to a moniter.

At first I was able to get the lcd screen to light by putting it in standby and bringing it out. but now,,, even that doesn't work.

Has anyone had experience with a problem like this...

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Sounds like either a bad inverter and/or a bad backlight.
