i1400 cd-rom compatibility

I am quite confused concerning the replacement of the cd-rom in my i1400 2611-412 ...

The one in my machine is FRU 05K9165, and it seems from the IBM litterature (parts list), the 2611-412 came with either the 05K9114 or the 05K9140 ... that's confusion nbr 1.

Now I was thinking of getting the cd-rom from a 2611-451 aka FRU 05K8956 ... Now wouldn't that be nice if IBM had a compatibility list that's available for everybody to see instead of relying on third-party compatibility lists! that's confusion nbr 2.

From now I read from third-party compatibility lists,
05K8956
05K9165
05K9108
are all ok for the 2611 line of i1400. So I am really hoping the 05K8956 will work in my poor 2611-412.

Any opinions?
