600E LCD problems... again

I came across a 600E with video problems. It has large groups of white and red vertical lines across the screen. These groups of lines will not change location with rebooting. A external CRT works fine, so I know it is A - the inverter, B - the screen itself, or C - the cables.
Where would you all begin? I am having other issues with it as well, ERR 96 & FRU 3810, but I am satisfied these have little to do with the LCD. (CMOS/Fan issues I think)

It's not the inverter. The inverter makes high voltage that's used to light the fluorescent backlight on the display, so it either works, or it doesn't. If the display is "on," your inverter is working.
So, only two choices left!

The cables will not work if the SMALLEST thing is out of place. eaither the ribbon cordswork, or they don't, there's no partial working thing in the ribbon cords. leaves only one option, the LCD how ever can give partial performance, so replace the LCD.

It's true that the cables will work or they won't.
However, cables can also be intermittent. A hairline crack in a flexible circuit, like those in LCD panel cables, can cause a signal to open intermittently. Also, a misalignment of cable to connector can cause strange problems.
Begin by reseating the cables, since that's free (cost-wise, and nearly free time-wise). Then depending on cost, I would replace the cables or the whole panel and cables.
