I have TP770 without hard disk and 160Mb pcmcia Ata flash disk.
How in earth i can make TP to boot from pcmcia.

I installed [censored] small linux in it= no boot
I formatted it in win98 with /s option= no boot.....

I have tryed every way i know to make disk bootable, but no luck.
I have searched from net for tips with no luck.

And yes pcmcia is first boot device in bios.

For now i'm stuck to boot DSL from cd using pcmcia as backupdevice for settings, but i rather like to boot witout cd

Well i found this little peace of information:
Hiya,

I removed the 3gb Toshiba drive (the hard disk) from my 560X to put in
the 560Z. I then changed the boot order to just Floppy then PCMCIA.
However on rebooting/cycling power, the machine asks for a floppy disk,
with the press f1 and ASCII representation of a disk, pressing F1 leads
to an I something code which either means no fixed disk present or no
bootable device present.

Placing the hard disk back in, and the 560X boots from PCMCIA.

Does it really have to have a hard disk there as my understanding is
that's not the case.

Any ideas appreciated!

Vicky
