power supply and lm324a

Hi everyone,
I got a tp600e that last month has been killed by (me) inverting erroneously the polarity of the plug on the car lighter switching power supply. After realizing(smelling) that something was wrong and obviously unplugging it I noticed that the laptop could still power on properly using the battery (no way wth the power supply of course)
I'm trying to fix it
I replaced the LM324A a 14 pins smd quad amp that was clearly gone and now the power supply is working again
but the battery doesn't get charged; on the external pins of the battery space I measure 2.4V nevertheless the orange led stays on even when I unplug the AC cord.
(That's why on my previous post I was looking for the schematics of the board)
Any help is really appreciated!
regards
