ibm tp 600

#1 Post by tony6264 » Wed Nov 09, 2005 1:30 pm

I picked up another tp 600 series and it seems to work fine except for when you first turn it on the screen is blank unless you press the FN+ F7 keys....am I missing something in the bios to make it leave the lcd active at boot all the time?
thanks

Not necessarily - try updating the BIOS to the latest/last version available from IBM...

I would check the lid closure switch. You can power the machine on with the lid closed, and it will assume you want to use an external monitor.

If you can open and close the lid, and the machine suspends, then it's probably not the switch. But if it doesn't do anything... then it might think it's always closed.
Machine-Project: 750P, 600X, T42, T60, T400, X1 Carbon Touch

You hit the nail on the head.....the lid switch is broken and was flopping around in there.....after a little messing around with it I got it to stay in the open position...thanks
