#1 Post by vanaya » Tue Nov 15, 2005 8:45 am

I have a 2645-5bu and Can't get pass 161 163 error duck screen. I have replaced keyboard and cmos battery. Still no success. I have double checked to see if connections on battery were good and tested all the way to white connector. Any other suggestions. Please help.

The Hardware Maintenance Manual says to replace the CMOS battery, set Date and Time in the BIOS, and if that doesn't solve the problem, you need a new system board. See for yourself in the link below.

I would be very sure you have a new CMOS battery... and that you don't solder the leads to the cell. (Heat reduces its life.)

I have now completely disassembled the internals. I didn't know how easy it was to replace. Thanks again GOM and WHIZ.

To all of us newbies. Don't be afraid to jump in, with the pdf that GOM supplied it is VERY easy.
