c240 trackpoint freeze and screen scrolling

Hi all. Mostly want to say that I've just found this forum and am pleased to find other thinkpad fans! Got a C240 and a 600E - and about to collect an X20 too!! I'm running XP (slowly?! ) on a Celeron 300 version of the C240 with 128mg of ram. Mostly very pleased but have 2 small intermittent problems. Very rarely ( about every 4/5 months or so ) I switch on and the bios/boot screen sort of "scrolls up"/flickers/etc out of control. The 3 or 4 times it has happened I just switched all off, opened/clsoed the lid, tried again and all was fine. I vaguely remember finding a post in another forum saying that a video cable/connection sometimes "lost contact" on c240's and pressing down on the connector (or poss resolder?!) was the solution. To be honest - as it's so rare for me it's not really a problem. The other slightly more annoying fault - in about 1 boot in 10 the trackpoint is frozen/dead. Again not a mega problem - I either switch off and try again or put usb mouse in! Presumably it's also a hardware/contact sort of thing?? I think I've got all latest drivers etc. As I say - mainly wanted to say hi to the thinkpad forum(!) - my 2 "problems" are really things I can live with. Regards.
