600e standby and 3d graphics

I've got two questions. One, When I close my 600e and it goes on standby, it won't come on again without me taking out the battery. It used to not do that. Maybe it has to do with the battery not holding a good charge or something (about 2 minutes). Also, is there a 3d accelerator graphics card compatible with the 600e (maybe a pcmcia card)? I want to be able to play 3d games on it.

Try pressing the blue FN key.

There is no 3D accelerator in the 600E, nor in the 600X for that matter.

Edit Well maybe I should read the question more carefully. I think I remember something about a video card for CardBus, but I don't think it was 3D, and AFAIK, there aren't any available now.

I think whizkid is right that there is no full replacement for your video card available via the PCMCIA slot. You can get graphic accelerators that work with your built-in video card -- the one that many people know about are the Margi-to-Go cards that provide DVD acceleration. There may be some obscure ones that provide 3d acceleration, but I haven't seen them in action.

An alternative option is to get a SelectaDock III docking station and insert a PCI video card in it. For more information about this, and to view an earlier discussion on this topic, check out Direct 3D Acceleration on 600X.
