Let me see if I have this right - you want to turn the built-in LCD panel of this laptop as a "divorced" unit (as is in no longer physically connected to the rest of the machine except for the video signals and power)?
Doesn't a 770 have a VGA port on the back for connecting an external monitor that you can use (with an external monitor), or am I misunderstanding what you're trying to do?

It is not possible to connect the LCD screen directly to the VGA port alone (and work) as it only has VGA signals and the LCD also requires power for the backlight. As someone else suggested (in your duplicate thread) you might consider extending the cables (video and power) from the base to screen.
