Where did you get your battery?

Older ThinkPads.. from the 600, the 7xx, the iSeries, 300, 500, the Transnote and, of course, the 701

Where did you get your battery?

#1 Post by jac0b » Thu Dec 01, 2005 8:15 am

Someone is going to buy me a battery for christmas and I am wanting to find a good place to get one.

My question is where did you get your battery?

I just bought the cheapest one I could find on EBAY. I don't have much luck with these lasting a long time, so I gave up on the branded batteries.

If you are concerned that a third party product might be the wrong voltage or inaapropriate for your laptop, be sure to tell your family you want a branded one. (And give them actual part numbers) I personally don't think there are differences in terms of the battery life. Like I said, I have had branded AND non branded ones fail on me or have a short lifespan. But, for some people a chevy is a chevy and a honda is a honda. lol

Now if you were talking RAM, I did notice a difference when using IBM RAM Vs. a third party RAM, but again, that is my experience.

Perhaps others have had a similar or different experience?

Well I got a dead or going to die battery off ebay for a $1, I was looking at this place http://www.batteryrefill.com you send a dead battery and they will send you a "refurbished" or "refilled" battery. Its only $45 with shipping for both the dead battery and the new one.
