Question about TP600 memory problem.

#1 Post by pcnoob » Fri Dec 09, 2005 2:14 am

Just got a TP600(2645-41U) two days ago, install a pc100 128mb sodimm into the first memory slot and the laptop says only half(96mb out 160mb) is usable.

So I had been looking around to find something about this problem, it seemed like there is no solution to this problem. However I recalled from somewhere that someone did something to fix the problem.

Can someone confirm this?

IIRC, the trick is to disable the onboard RAM in the BIOS, which lets you get away with bigger upgrade chips.
