Hmmm.. I'd say pretty useful.. Useful enough for me to snag one on eBay for 76.00.. I think the compact size and insane battery life makes them a desireable item for some, although not as many as when it first hit the market some years back.. I had an old Compaq c120 HPC that I absolutely LOVED.. Grayscale, touchscreen, and all the pocket apps.. I dropped it some years later, and damaged the touch screen.. I sold it as parts for 30 bucks a couple months ago.. So I figured a new one would be sweet.. I did some research (And actually bought one of the many IBM PalmIII types of PDAs) and stumbled across this unit.. I was ecstatic as I never knew IBM made one of these little guys.. That, and I had been wanting an HP Jornada 820 since their release in 98 or 99.. This was what I wanted and more (Mainly because of the IBM on the case, and the TrackPoint)..

To sum it up, I have seen them go for as little as 50, to as much as 175 on eBay, and I think they're very useful.. I'm sure someone can adapt it to boot Windows XP or something too, lol..

EDIT: Here's the Compaq I used to have and love:

It's limited, but I still LOVE my Z50. The best thing: endless battery life. 16 hours. I'm a writer and take it to press conferences, other conferences etc. so I can type and NEVER worry about running out of gas. It's basically only good for Word, light spreadsheets, email and SOME web surfing.

Major downsides: slow, slow, slow. And the web browser is becoming increasingly incompatible with websites, mostly because of Java issues. But I still love it.
