Fastest Thinkpad that can support a PCI card in Selectadock?

I need to build a portable unit to drive a telephony card, so this means stuffing the card in a Selectadock. Is the 600X the fastest notebook that can run a selectadock?
And does anyone know what the compatibility list for the 3547-002 is?

I'm not sure if anyone has had success overclocking the 600X but with a 600E using a PIII 850 it could run at 930Mhz. I'm not sure if T series will work in the dock...

You know how big and heavy these SelectaDocks are I hope? They are not really very portable. They may meet your needs just fine, I don't know, but be sure you know how heavy and large they are.

Yes. The 600X is the fastest machine in the 600/770 group of ThinkPads and it is the fastest machine compatible with the SelectaDock I,II or III. The fastest stock 600X was a PIII 650MHz. Many, many 600X's are available with PIII 500MHz chips. As ChrisL implies above, you could upgrade the CPU in a 600X to get it to go somewhat faster. A PIII 850MHz is the fastest CPU that is compatible, but they are very expensive.

I assume you mean a list of PCI cards that are compatible with the SelectaDock II, right? I don't think such a list exists, even internally at IBM/Lenovo. Here is an
Unofficial Graphics Card Compatibility List for the SelectaDock III. If you have not already purchased the SelectaDock, then I would recommend obtaining a SelectaDock III instead of a SelectaDock II. They are almost identical except that a few flaws in the hardware were fixed in the later model and you can have 3 PCI cards in the SelectaDock III instead of just the 2 in the SelectaDock II. Both the SelectaDock II and III models should be available for almost nothing -- you will probably pay more for shipping than for the docking stations themselves, so there is no reason not to get the latest model that was made.

I am quite aware how bulky any Selectadock is, this doesn't mean I'll be lugging it around the campus in my backpack. Try carrying on the road a minitower, keyboard, mouse, cables, lcd monitor. A 600X on a Selectadock II/III is much tidier.
I have no intention of popping in a graphics card for a 600X. If I needed performance, I would simply get some Pentium4-m Thinkpad for cheap, instead of attempting to upgrade obselete equipment. I will be using telephony PCI and/or ISA cards in the Selectadock. The whole point of this is being able to build a 1 piece unit that I can put in the trunk of the car, set it up at a clients for a demo, and then take it away just as quick.

i reckon the tp600e running @918mghz would be about the fastest
then the to600e running@864mghz,with simple fsb mod.
