cross-model batteries fot 770x ???

#1 Post by Ogg » Tue Jul 13, 2004 10:44 am

Are there any other TP model batteries that are compatible for the 770x? In the short term, I am looking at a temporary solution to access a working battery for use in a 770x that I want to apply a BIOS update. In the long term, a battery is not critical for my 770x, but the BIOS update is priority right now, so I really only need the battery for the few minutes to accomplish the update.

770 Battery

All of the 770's use the same battery (770, 770E, 770X, 770Z), but I am not aware of any other Thinkpad that uses the same battery pack.

There are aftermarket suppliers of batteries.

A reasonable used battery on Ebay (make sure you have a "working" guarantee) would keep a charge for as long as you will need for the BIOS update. Sometimes these can be obtained for $40-50.

A good new battery, whether "official" or aftermarket, will cost between $100 and $150. But it will hold charge for 3+ hours of operation.

Hope this helps.
