Latest 770Z BIOS upgrade?

#1 Post by Red Flag » Fri Jan 13, 2006 9:01 pm

Hey all,

Just wondered if anyone else is confused by IBM's (or Lenovo - whoever the hell that is) support website for 770Z BIOS upgrades:

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... IGR-47F3VA

It says that the latest BIOS version is 1.05 (IOET23WW) dated 12 Oct 2001. However, my BIOS is reported by PC Wizard as IOET23WW, but dated 10 Sep 1999. Is there actually a discrepancy between these versions, or is the date just reported wrong on the "Lenovo" website? Do I or do I not have the latest BIOS version?

Thanks for your help. Cheers!

Andrew

Not sure why the dates are off like that, but if you read the .txt file that comes with the BIOS, you will see that the release date was infact 9/10/99.

The same thing applies to the 600 series as well.

It might be a web posting date.

There is a discrepancy between the date stamp of the 600/770 BIOSes and the actual date of release of these BIOSes. See the following post for more info and a link to IBM for more info:
