Hi

I have an old 240x in excellent condition, my problem is that I want to reinstall the operating system.

The external CD rom is attached via PCMCIA, so I need a boot disk that supports this drive.

I had one but it no longer wants to work.

It is an IBM drive, and it uses devbay.exe. I am not sure how to modify a Win98 boot disk to do this

Any help greatly appreciated.

This is just what you need!

If you scroll down the web page, you can find the links of IBM PCMCIA 8/20X & 4X CD-ROM drivers.

Good luck!

Two questions:

1) Are you using a generic Windows install CD and if so, what version of windows? or

2) Are you trying to restore the system using an IBM Recovery CD?

The reason I ask is, using the system recovery CD could be more complicated to get proper drivers installed than using a generic Windows install CD.
