Thinkpad 390 won't boot after ram upgrade

#1 Post by 455olds » Sat Jan 28, 2006 9:53 pm

I installed 256 mb of ram and the computer won't startup at all just a black screen. I installed two 128MB PC100 SODIMM I bought from here. http://www.archmemory.com/index.asp?Pag ... gory=38622

I tried to update the bios but it says the battery is not fully charged (Battery is no good). Do I need to buy a new battery and update my bios or did I buy the wrong memory?

The hard drive went too as I was installing the ram. I thought it was on its way out but now I am shore I ran scandisk and it failed this time. Not shore if that could couse the new ram not to work? It still boots to bios with the old ram.

Thanks In advance Tom

Dell OptiPlex 9010 SFF (Core i3-3220 / 8GB / 8TB); HP 8300 Elite minitower (Core i7-3770 / 16GB / 9.25TB)
