Is there a fix for this error other than replacing the system board ? I've tried searching this Forum & several searches on Google without any luck. Some advice from the few results I got were : System Ram, Battery, Bad Hdd etc. but I have removed all these & it still won't work.

Any help at all would be appreciated.

The only action the Hardware Maintenance Manual gives for the 107 NMI test failure error is to replace the system board. I suggest you look for one on e-bay.

Thanks for your advice gomjabber. I have sourced a Motherboard from eBay, (£20 plus postage). Just waiting for it to arrive.
There must be more on this error somewhere but I can't find anything via Google. I have the Hmm's for all 600's but they're not much help to my problem.

press the reset button with only psu connected or only battery connected, disconnect ram, battery?
if still no go unscrew the keyboard press down on the cpu heatsink /core area see if that wakes it up,if still no go ,disconnect cpu assembly then with no cpu affixed, power on then power off ,reconnect cpu again ,you'll be amazed how ibm firmware can manipulate the machine to be rendered as terminal of dud component when there wasn't really any in the first place, especially on tp600x.
trust ibms bios no more, persist with your resolve and get back at em by forcing the bios to wake up again,by resorting to alternative techniques from what they imply when the going gets tough, more times than not
you will get it up and running sweetly again.
if its going beyond and hour or so and still no go
then replace the mainboard.
