390E upgrade help

I'm familiar with computers but would like to learn some more as I play around with my 390E - would be great if you guys could give me some direction.

I was hoping to upgrade my hard drive from 3.2 GB to about 40GB.

a)Can I buy any 2.5", 9.5mm harddrive?
b)Can you recommend any brand (would prefer to buy off ebay)
c)Is there a dummies guide to easily transferring the data from the old to the new (I have ghost floppies) but what cables will I need?
