model 2635-AAU question

I picked one of these up recently and it seems to be working fine, based on the diagnostics. The stickers on the keyboard indicate Intel Pentium MMX and Microsoft Windows NT/ Windows 95.
The hard disk has been wiped.
I can boot from a DOS disk, but attempts to load a Linux distro (Ubuntu) hangs when attempting to load Linux.
Any advice as to what OS I might try to find (I'm sure I'll need drivers, etc as well), or how to further check this box out?
Thanks from an old mainframe guy.

Apparrently this is a 380XD? You can get most of your answers right from the people who made it:
Code: Select all
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=/product.do?template=%2Fproductpage%2Flandingpages%2FproductPageLandingPage.vm&sitestyle=lenovo&brandind=10&familyind=50072&machineind=0&modelind=0&partnumberind=0&subcategoryind=0&doctypeind=100&doccategoryind=0&operatingsystemind=49979&validate=true
This link:

The links in the middle of page should lead to other interesting information
Speaks of everything from W98, NT4, and W2K. There was probably at least some of those that came with W95
The driver matrix:
Code: Select all
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=DSHY-3XWNVG
should also give you a clue. Looks like you can run about anything, including OS/2, and DOS/W3x.
I wouldn't fool with X tra P utrid on that machine.

Thanks... I did find a copy of W98 that installed, now will check your links for the correct drivers. This promises to be a fun project.
Thanks again,
Rich

PS: Use the code option when posting long links, if not the page goes off the screen........
