upgrading 770 memory

#1 Post by tattaloop » Tue Feb 21, 2006 7:53 am

I have a 770x-9549-7b0. It has 128M memory, in 2 modules. I assume these are 64M each.

Can I replace these with a pair of 128M modules?

Will the motherboard see all 256M, or ignore some, like in a TP600?

Do I have to do something with onboard memory, like in a TP600?

Do the modules have to be single sided or double sided, and how many chips can they have?

Thank you wizards in advance

I am not clear on the specs for the 770s, but if it is as advanced CPU speed at at least 366MHz (original factory CPU) then if you went to ebay, and picked up some PC66 128 SODIMMS then you should be fine.

Wizard.

Thanks Wizard. You are there being helpful. I am gonna buy some memory.

I am waiting for a Pentium 3 CPU to arrive from ebay, which will replace the P2 currently in use. I will post something about the upgrades.
