Remove Power on Password (i know the password)

How do i remove the power on password i know it it just beeps at me when i click it i have a thinkpad 600x what a brilliant machine so quick this is my first post by the way

If you know the password, you can remove it by typing it in at the password prompt then adding a space after the password.

does that set it too blank what if i want to enable it in a years time but dont remember it can it be reset to a blank value

Then you hit F1 at boot time and go into the BIOS where you can set the password. You can also remove the password this way if you like.
