I have a 2645 which was originally an A2U but that has been marked out, leading me to think it may have a different motherboard. Is there another way to tell what it is? Thx

The ThinkPad Configuration Utility will give a report of your system if you click on "View System Summary". This lists the model part number reported by your motherboard as well as some other info.

If you don't have this installed or cannot use it for some reason, you can also get the model/part number from your BIOS. Press and Hold F1 during boot-up to enter the BIOS.

Thanks Phil, looks like it is an A2U after all. So if I understand that correctly this means the limit for a processor is 400Mhz.
