Made progress, but still getting "Invalid Partition Tab

#1 Post by John Sanders » Fri Jul 23, 2004 10:35 pm

I was able to use the adapter cable to get the information off my hard drive with my desk top. I looked at the partition while it was on my desktop pc and it looked fine, only one partition and it was active. I did a google search and some of the sites said to run this command "aefdisk/mbr" so I downloaded it, ran it, no change. I had an old drive laying around from a different laptop, tried it, same error. To top it off it won't boot with a floppy either. Any ideas? I guess it wouldn't hurt to format the drive on my desktop and try it. If formatting doesn't work I'm called it dead and moving on! Anyone want to buy a slightly used thinkpad LOL!
