IBM 390X LAPTOP - FITTING AGRAPHICS CARD - ADVICE PLEASE ?!

#1 Post by bunkey » Sun Mar 19, 2006 1:38 pm

Hello
Can anyone offer any advice please- I want to add a graphics card to my IBM390X 450MHZ, Running Windows XP. and to be frank, I have'nt a clue about graphcs cards !
I have just purchased a copy of Lemmings Revolution ( everyone groan ! )
and having installed it, I get the message "No suitable 3d accelerator detected" - So presumably I need a graphics card ? So two questions ;-
A) What type would suit, B) How do you fit them ?
Any advice gratefully received !
Pete

There is no way to upgrade or change out your graphics card. They are part of the systemboard.

There may be a docking station available that can house a 1/2 size pci video card, but someone else will have to chime in because I am not 100% sure.

Also, here is your Hardware Maintenance Manual, which will help you determine exactly which parts are in your system.
