Interchangeability of parts between Thinkpad 240 and 240x

Both laptops are similar in every phyiscal spec except CPU and LCD screen type.

I need to change out my LCD back cover from 240 to 240x and probably the keyboard as well. Has anyone done similar things? Would that work despite the fact that IBM strangely list all the major components of the two laptops under different FRU # despite the fact those are similar dimension laptops?

Actually, the screen type is the same. I used a 240 screen on a 240X chassis and vice versa. You should have no problems with it at all.
