Boot from CD using 390X

Hi

I've got an old 390X that I'm trying to reinstall with Linux. I've got a Linux boot CD which I used a couple of days ago with another computer, so I know that works, but the 390X refuses to acknowledge the boot CD.

I've changed all of the BIOS options to show the CD drive at the top of the startup order, but it still isn't working. Anyone got any idea how I can get it to boot from the CD?

My old 380XD had problems reading "burned" cds, is that what you have?

If so, find a "factory" bootable cd, such as an OEM copy on W98 and test the laptop with that.

Problem fixed

Fixed the problem. I suspected that it might have been the CD drive, so I found another 390X in one of the cupboards and swapped the drive over, and then it read the CD fine.

Thanks anyway :)
