question on a thinkpad 365x

hello all i was given a ibm thinkpad 365x i have been trying to look up info on what exactly the parts it has in it........the one big question is the pcmcia slots i bough a comp usa ethernet pcmcia 32 bit card it seems to fit "snug" but it does go in not having to force it in......but when i re-boot the laptop windows wont reconize the new hardware????
if anyone has suggestions for me it would help me out a bunch

this laptop has windows 98se running on it also it only has 40 mb of ram

Well, the 365x series is 16bit cards only. They are out there if you look.
