240X External Monitor

G'day,
If this is the wrong Forum for a 240X question, please correct me.
I need to have the 240X power up driving a generic (pre DDC) monitor. How do I configure the IBM to just output the video and not attempt to read what is connected? This is a special implementation, and the keyboard is not accessable.
