701, Win95, and Wireless?

#1 Post by lsimpson50 » Sat Jul 31, 2004 2:42 pm

Anyone been successful bringing their Win95 equiped, "legacy", 701 into the wireless age? I'm ready to give it a try. I know she needed a 16 bit pcmcia card to successfully talk to my network. What do I need for wireless?

[sorry if this was answered somewhere before. I searched the old and new forums and did not see an answer.]

Thanks

Yep. I use this one without any problem. Of course you'll also need an b or g access point. By the way I use Win 95 OSR2.

I ran a SMC card (.11B),Model # SMC2632W and it worked a treat! I ran it on both 95 OSR2 and 98lite. Ran best with 98lite (big surprise). This was in a 701c with a 12gig drive (with overlay) and the top amount of ram you could cram in. I don't remember how much that was but something like 60meg sounds right.

I have a couple of those too, good cards.
They are a clone of the classic Orinoco gold.
