TP 600X fan control

How control the fan speed of my Thinkpad 600X ?
After the boot it'is always on and a bit noisy...thanks!

I just tryed Speedfan but it doesn't detect cpu and fan speed sensors. :(
I found however a way to make the 600x silent in Windows XP (when fan won't to stop): go in standby mode and then re-login (after that the fan turn off for long time). Now this tip works well for me. :wink:

I noticed that in Linux cpu runs hotter than Windows XP and fan start soon also when I don't use the thinkpad.
I use Ubuntu Breezy 5.10.
Searching by google I found this page:

How can modify the file process.c and then recompile the kernel so cpu can stay cool?
