Sorry to hear about your troubles.
Did you reconnect the two ribbon cables coming off the keyboard back to the motherboard? I hope it's something simple like that.
Did you disconnect them in the first place? Maybe you pulled them off the keyboard while disassembling? Which in case, you may need a new keyboard.

Check the keyboard cables to make sure they are intact. Also make sure that all the pins are straight (my 600E was dead for an hour once when I accidently bent a pin, I fixed the issue by bending the pin back wit a needle) and make sure that the CPU board and the CPU socket/connector on the MMC2 module and 600E motherboard are clean and free of bent pins.
However, before doing any of this, try powering the computer on with an external monitor attached to see if it's a motherboard issue or video issue. If that yeilds no good results, remove the CMOS battery and RAM and system battery and flip the power switch (without the computer plugged in) several times to drain any current still inside the computer. Put everything back together and see if it works.

well i removed the ram, CD drive and CPU and tunred on and off a few times, then unplugged and did the same. pu t back the ram, cpu and keyboard, low and behold the thing boots!!!!:)
of course i get the 127 error, and i cant work out for the life of me how to get into the bios editor! ive tried instructions here, what i really need is the exact intructions button by button screen by screen because im obviosuly an idiot!
i did manage to bipass the error and get into winXP, system said 498MHz and ran a couple of apps which work ALOT better now (ysflight 2000 btw)
so i suppose once i can get the bios editor up and powerleap working ill be alright!
phew.

1. Make sure laptop is off.Legend66 wrote:of course i get the 127 error, and i cant work out for the life of me how to get into the bios editor! ive tried instructions here, what i really need is the exact intructions button by button screen by screen because im obviosuly an idiot!![]()
2. Hold down F1 key, turn computer on, keep holding down F1 key until it goes into Easy Setup.
3. In Easy Setup click on 'Config' icon.
4. Hit 'Ctrl-D' to get into hex editor.
5. Cursor down to row '20', the very first column should have 02 (mine had 00).
6. Change the 02 to 0A
7. Hit 'F2' to save.
8. Hit 'F3' to exit.
9. Turn off laptop.
10. Turn on laptop. Should boot without the 127 error.
I believe those are the steps. I'm typing this from memory having upgraded two machines in the past couple weeks.
Make sure you see the other thread regarding L2 cache because when the laptop goes into standby Powerleap does not enable L2 cache when it comes out of standby. The small program 'Restarter' works great will restart Powerleap coming out of standby and enable L2 cache. It works great. Many thanks to others in this forum.
Good luck!
EDIT: Here's the link to the other thread that has step by step instructions on the Restarter program:

tried the 105 or108 fsb mod yet?
works perfect with wifi.
ive been running the 500Mhz CPU for a over a week now and the system is still as rocksolid and stable as ever!:) had some troubel getting into the easy setup, had to reboot 50+ times, everytime resulting in different screens, errors in different resolutions:? but eventually, i got it!
My sound problems have completely gone too! (with the 366 id get the odd "click" or zap during playback, still dont know why!) and of course i can now run CPU whore webpages (eg ign and flash) without my mouse going at 1fps! the thinkpad also runs cooler, and being left handed means the fan now doubles as a hand cooler for when im doing intense dog fights on YSFLIGHT!:D
ive just got a psion 5 palmtop (£30) which im hoping to connect via the infrared port, ill let you all know how that goes!
