after read one of the post i found out the transnote is not usb 2.0

i want to connect the transnote to a external hard drive..it could be firewire or usb....

other than using the pcmia card for the usb 2.0/firewire is there any other ways? i needed the pcmia slot for different uses...

What other uses did you have for the PCMCIA?

If it was for a wireless card, you have the option of using a USB wireless adapter instead.

i planned to put the sound card audigy 2 zs in the pcmia with my 5.1 speakers...the transnote should be able to handle the soundcard

if theres no others i might as well not get the sound card though...heard about usb sound but dunno how good it is....

I've got a USB 2.0 pc card and I've never gotten the thing to work with my eternal drive adapter - Windows 2K can't seem to map the drive though it recognizes the devices attached. I thought others had the same problem?

As for freeing the slot for wifi, I use Rhapsody to burn CDs to play in the car and without USB 2.0 the only option for decent eternal burner performance is the pc card slot. I connect using a CF wifi device at those times, or go really crazy and use the built-in ethernet connection.

thanks i might try to use CF adapter....

windows xp might help with the pc card, but I haven't been able to install and set up my transnote after the old hard drive broke down...

Edit: this might work for me would it,
