External keypads

I have a PS/2 external keypad (IBM #95F5446) that I have used on several past Thinkpads - most recently my 560. I love it because it's small, and has a cover that serves as a tilting base when placed underneath it. Additionally, it does NOT have the "000" key which I detest on a keypad.

I haven't found any external keypads I like as well as this one and I want to use it on my Thinkpad T41p which doesn't have a PS/2 port. I have a PS/2 to USB adapter from an old desktop keyboard, but unfortunately the adapter AND the keypad plug are both male. Before I buy a female to female PS/2 adapter (assuming that they exist) can anyone tell me if this keypad will work on my T41p as a USB device?

Doubtful. You'll need some sort of ps2-usb device. I think IBM had a USB hub that had parallel, serial, and ps2 ports on it. You can also get generic devices like that that plug into a USB port.

The various port reps and dock station have ps2 ports also.
