Will this RAM work in my 600e?

I have 32MB of RAM in a dead Toshiba 305CDT laptop which I'd like to put in my 600E if possible. The part number on the sticker is "TO-DBB-32M" and I believe it's 32MB 144-pin EDO SODIMM.
I'm no expert but my instinct is that it wouldn't work, however would it harm my Thinkpad to try?
Thanks in advance,
Daniel

No, TP600E need SDRAM.

No, because the key slot position is different between EDO and SDRAM SODIMMs so you cannot simply insert an EDO memory into your TP600E.
If you forcibly put it into TP600E, you are likely to physically damage the memory module and the memory socket. That's totally another story.

Thank you for the quick reply, shined.
With that advice, I'd best leave well alone and buy some of the real mcoy.
Thanks again,
Daniel

Let me correct myself.

I checked the shapes of the EDO and SDRAM memory modules and made sure they are exactly the same. So it is possible to insert an EDO module into a SDRAM slot, and vice versa. I was confused with desktop memory modules.
